RFF Frost Flasher

This is a Frost Warning Device that monitors air temperature and triggers a flasher alarm as the temperature drops toward frost conditions. It is primarily used in orchards and vineyards that use helicopters to break up inversion layers and push warm air down in to areas that might frost. The temperature probe of the RFF Remote Frost Flasher can be monitored and logged by a GP-MC datalogger on its RS485 Line.

As supplied, the unit flashes as follows:

  • One flash per two seconds as the temperature has dropped below 3º C
  • Two flashes per two seconds as the temperature has dropped below 2º C
  • Three flashes per two seconds as the temperature has dropped below 1º C
  • The unit stops flashing as the temperature has risen above 5º C

These trigger temperatures are programmable.
