GP-HR Light / Solar
Energy Application Notes

Any combination of the three analogue inputs of the GP-HR Logger can be configured to read Light or Solar Energy when
connected to the Light / Solar Energy sensor. No other
components are required.

The sensors can be connected directly to:
- Pin 1, Pin 2 and Pin 6 (Pin1 Sensor Supply, Pin 2 Sensor
Output, Pin 6 Common)
- Pin 1, Pin 3 and Pin 6 (Pin1 Sensor Supply, Pin 3 Sensor
Output, Pin 6 Common)
- Pin 1, Pin 4 and Pin 6 (Pin1 Sensor Supply, Pin 4 Sensor
Output, Pin 6 Common)
A Light / Solar Energy Sensor and a Light / Solar Energy
Sensor with Temperature Probe are supplied as standard probe sets for the GP-HR.
Setting up a Light / Solar Energy
channel using the OmniLog Software
Connect the GP-HR logger to a computer and Run the OmniLog
software
From the Logger
Control Screen select Channel and Probe Setup
Select the Channel that the sensor is connected to
(Ch1,2 or 3)
From the Probe box select the Light
Intensity or the Solar Energy option as shown

Notice that after the Light Intensity or Solar Energy probe
has been chosen the Units in the Unit
and Scaling box has been set to Lux or Watts
per square metre
Now give the Channel a meaningful Long and Short name in the Logger
Channel Name box as shown below

Click on the Write Unit, Scaling and Calibration values to the Logger button to send the new settings to the logger.
Click on the Calibration Notes
button in the Calibration box to see the Light and Solar Energy Calibration procedure.
